Niggling shit that still bothers me:
Orson, did you just seriously go from writing Alai as being a kind, intelligent, witty, wise leader of the Muslim world and then follow it up so he gets chased out by his own people who are all warmongers who want to take over the world and force sharia on everyone forever?
I mean um. What. No.
There is literally not a single other faction in these books...

Talkypoint I should go into some other time b/c I’ve talked enough about ships already:
If they were under attack then Petra would be superior battlepowering her way through guns blazing and Wang-mu would outthink the shit out of her assailants all the while snarking on Peter, who’d be hiding under a table throwing pebbles.
He knows that pretty damn well and in my headcanon at least...

I wonder if it says something about me or about the books that the only canon ships I can legitimately ship wholeheartedly SHIPFLAGS OUT AND SPARKLES involve Peter.
IDK maybe it’s just that he’s one of the few people in this canon that actually tries to fix his own shit.

Reasons Why I Love Ender Wiggin

#i feel like Ender suffers from Underappreciated Protagonist Syndrome in the way Harry does #tbh I always thought of him as straight but I need to reevaluate cause him & Alai man really Ender is buried so deep in his own closet #interesting just how emotional and responsible Ender is I think it’s interesting how EG is a very characteristically...

do you ever hear the intro theme to a video game and you get really emotional and your heart feels really weak like it’s coming back home and it’s basically like that whole world you love so much summed up into one epic song and you just want to fucking cry a lot because this is the video game for you and nothing else ever can even compare to the feeling you get when...

Reasons Why I Love Ender Wiggin
Because when I say I have a Wiggin Problem I mean all the Wiggins, not just Peter and Valentine.
He’s an intense mess of contradictions who was borderline engineered to be so (I mean look at all of Graff’s meddling in his parents meeting and requesting that he be born) but who suffers greatly from it: all his parts don’t quite mesh together.
It’s also his greatest...

If I ever tell you I’m going to sleep and then you see me posting or liking things online for about an hour immediately after that, I promise I wasn’t lying to you, I’m just bad at going to sleep and it is usually a long process that begins with disengaging from any sort of immediate contact with people (chats, for example) and ends when everything on my screen is blurry and...

I worshipped militaristic Mormon science-fiction writer Orson Scott Card — until we met.
Here’s another lovely thing about Orson Scott Card… I really like this person’s personable writing style xD
